Your data on the old hdd will be fine provided the drive is not damaged. You just can't boot from it because your BIOS doesn't give you the option to use a Sata drive. The WD HDD is showing up after the *press f4 to enter raid utility* message and then it just sits at the black screen saying "Verifying DMI Pool Data................." and wont

Complete power down at the same point when trying to load window to USB drive. And cloning the HDD was not the way to go because you have no SATA drivers installed...or do you? Clear the cmos your mobo manual will explain how. So i try shutting down and switching cables and then switching the jumper on the WD HDD and in the end, now i cant even start my windows XP at all. AustrAlienGoogle is my friend. NOTE: after last night's disspearance (the drive was still there last night but only showed 1 file in it!) I swapped the IDE cables around...
