Perhaps it's the Defense+ part that is causing the problem. Clear Windows Update folder. Register now!
check the status of the WMIservice like this, open a command window (go to start>run type in cmd and click ok) and in the window type "sc qc wscsvc" without the Regards,Alan. " The steps technicians are currently taking to resolve the issue
I believe Windows Update has been turning on the Windows Firewall....at least I think Icaught it in the past. Thank you for any>>> assistance. Delete every copy of this file that you find. The point is, ensure you have a current, tested backup of all system and data files and understand how to restore the system in case something goes very wrong.

Sometimes they work, sometimes not. I do know, that at one point in inter-galactic time, using AVG, Comodo (earlier firewall only version), Spyware Blaster. Does anyone have an idea how to get the Microsoft Security Center to work? Do not eliminate or skip any steps.
