When I restored 8.1 I was told I needed to install yet another required update (Grrr). However I got a blue screen with an error message that said: "A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER. He has a habit of getting impatient and physically shutting down his computer if he thinks it is taking very long to shut down normally. Your article made me realize that my problem, where startup programs wouldn't start when I would log into Windows after a shut-down, was because of "hybrid shutdown". MS support were clueless. I should mention the stop error code is slightly different now from what it was originally. SO very glad that it worked.

what is the recovery console and bootcfg/rebuild command? Starting in safe mode produces the same results (last know good configuration does no good either). Anyway, I still have this Restart problem.

its very useful for my dell m4800 precision win 8.1, with shut off suddenly. First you need to upgrade to Windows 10 before you can use the bootable USB drive to perform a clean installation. os OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG THANKS You so much you saved my life. Please help!
