Is the password only one character long? I'm sure everyone is working very hard. As for the other points raised by sk_raja_raja: - there are no evnts in the log as mentioned. Thanks to all for your responses.

This didn't work for me, but I expect our setups are different: a user with admin rights is essentially never logged in. Whilst the comment from sk raja raja did mention blank passords this was associated with a log event. Have been suffering silently with this problem for some time. It seems they leave it to each and every customer to struggle with this issue all by themselves.

The schedule is set to run under administrative privelages, paths/folders have not been changed and the rest of the links to MS KB have not been relevant to the situation described. The name of the user is Utahna Hancock.

Windows 10 Insider preview has broken the Windows Task scheduler 1.0 API and is not a stable release. If it doesn't, I'd probably try just creatingsome generic task in WTS to see if that runs.
