XP Pro On Pavilion Dv9000 Audio Issues

I have a pavilion 540n. Beginning to think only a pro could do this.Down where the sound speaker icon was, now shows a speaker with red X and says "No Audio Output Device is installed". The downside was that the new dv6000 came w/ Vista & not XP like my original laptop. Now here is my beef. his comment is here

Many Thanks.. Anyway, here is what you do:First you need 2 files which ironically enough come from HP, they are SP35558.exe and SP35558.cva They contain the Conexant drivers for Vista x64.
