I see you have it resolved with turning off the indexing service. Thanks for any help! If it doesn't find everything it expects to find or you disconnected some hardware without telling it you did that, that can cause Windows to hang on shutdown as well. So instead of Msvcp70u, it may hide under some other name.I just hope I got all of it and that this helps anyone else that runs into this little PITA.[edited for his comment is here
