That Gateway router should have all the settings I mentioned above. Other brands of Router that doesn't have firewall doesn't need this. If I change my Local Area Connection to reflect an automatically assigned configuration, the connection to Xbox Live does not work. Whenever it's just my laptop and the xbox getting a connection it's fine, but as soon as another computer connects to the router, it kicks us all off. For each cable modem, you have to apply the port forwarding solution I detailed above. I am having the same problem.
